Better transportation for everyone
Arity, part of Allstate's family of brands, is a mobility data and analytics company that has been in the telematics space since 2014 but became its own company in 2016. Arity's technology analyzes driving behaviors that help create future transportation solutions that are smarter and safer. Arity operates independently from Allstate Insurance Corporation and serves a wide range of customers from municipal governments to insurance providers.
Its team recently celebrated a major milestone of collecting more than a trillion miles of driving data.
Here's a look back on how they got there:
Arity came out as its own mobility data and analytics company in 2016, with a mission to make transportation smarter, safer and more useful for everyone. The company's first offering was the Arity Driving Engine Software Development Kit (SDK), which allowed insurance carriers to start collecting driving and mobility data via their own mobile apps.
Arity started filing applications to be licensed and operate as an RSO in states across the U.S. Once licensed, Arity started scoring driving behavior through the Drivesight® model.
The company launched Crash Detection by Arity in 2018 which enables mobile apps to detect accidents and respond accordingly in real time.
Arity employees made the sudden shift to working remotely at the beginning of COVID-19. In April 2020, the Arity team analyzed how people's mobility habits shifted, helping insurers and other transportation-related businesses adjust accordingly.
Arity's latest solution Arity IQSM launched. Insurers can access Arity's behavior dataset to request a person's individual driving score, which is delivered instantly.
