Relationship abuse

Disrupt the cycle of relationship abuse

Since 2005, The Allstate Foundation has invested more than $90 million to empower survivors to live free from relationship abuse.

We give them tools to achieve financial security. And we educate youth on healthy relationships to prevent future harm.

If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, call 800-799-7233 or go to the National Domestic Violence Hotline website.

It starts with awareness

More than 10 million people in the U.S. are abused by their partners each year.

Relationship abuse disproportionately impacts individuals from historically marginalized communities and survivors encounter additional barriers to support due to structural and systemic inequities.

How we help

The Allstate Foundation is focusing on these strategies to help survivors achieve financial security and live free from abuse:

  • Deepen investment in asset-building programs, including cash assistance, matching savings and credit building.
  • Strengthen the capacity and elevate best practices of culturally specific organizations.
  • Expand public understanding of relationship abuse and advance an empowered survivor narrative.
  • Promote the well-being of advocates who support survivors.
  • Explore opportunities to support survivors through existing Allstate products and practices.
  • Educate youth about healthy relationships and men about healthy masculinity to prevent abuse.

Our partners

Our valued partners offer extensive resources for survivors, advocates and educators.

The Allstate Foundation is centered around the survivor. Their approach comes down to looking at the field, thinking about what truly survivors need, and responding in ways that are both nimble and flexible. That direct approach, combined with corporate partners with relationship abuse as their pillar of philanthropy, is going to be what puts an end to domestic violence.
