How one Allstater's curiosity led to 12 patents

Lizzie Schreier's passion for problem-solving — and Allstate's culture around innovation — help her turn ideas into inventions.

July 26, 2024

You don't need a specific job title or to sit on a certain team to be an innovator at Allstate. You just need to have ideas — and the curiosity to pursue them.

And sometimes you get a patent for it.

Lizzie Schreier knows about that. She's an Allstate inventor with 12 patents under her belt. In her role as director, Digital Engagement, she's known for using her curiosity to solve problems for consumers. So much so that Allstate recognized her with its Impact Award for Innovation at its 14th annual Inventor Recognition Event in 2024.

"The inspiration is the consumer, No. 1," Schreier said. "How can we make their lives feel more protected and make things a little bit easier for them? That's where the ideas come from."
