'Tis the season: Mocktails for safe sips, safe driving

Allstate teamed up with chef, restaurateur and TV personality Jordan Andino to create Allstate Good Sips, a collection of signature mocktails, to promote safe driving.

Alcohol still remains a major contributor to motor vehicle accidents, even with non-alcoholic beverage sales on the rise. In continued support of safe, sober driving – particularly during the holiday season – Allstate collaborated with Jordan Andino to create fun, festive, alcohol-free beverages that everyone can enjoy.

Safetini

A twist on the classic martini, inspired by the holiday season. It's a blend of blue curaçao syrup, soda water, lime juice and fresh mint, topped with cranberries. It's a refreshing blue mocktail – Allstate's signature color.

Ingredients:

• 1.5 oz blue curaçao syrup
• 0.5 oz lime juice
• 3 mint leaves
• 3 fresh cranberries
• Club soda

Instructions:

Add mint leaves, lime juice and syrup to a shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a fresh glass and top with club soda. Garnish with cranberries.

Sober Sage

A festive, gin-inspired mocktail mixing cranberry juice, sage simple syrup and soda water, with sage leaves as garnish.

Ingredients:

• 0.75 oz sage & serrano pepper syrup
• 2 oz cranberry juice
• 0.5 oz lemon juice
• Club soda
• Sage leaves

Instructions:

Make the sage and serrano pepper syrup: in a saucepan, mix 1 tbsp minced serrano chilies (with seeds), 2 tbsp finely chopped sage, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, whisking thoroughly until all sugar is dissolved. Turn off heat and let steep for 15 mins. Strain.

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain over fresh ice and add club soda. Garnish with a sage leaf.

10 & 2

An alcohol-free version of an old fashioned that includes black tea, bitters, sugar, and the citrus burst of an orange slice to top it off.

Ingredients:

• 2.5 oz black tea
• 0.5 oz simple syrup
• 3-4 dashes of angostura bitters
• Orange peel

Instructions:

Add all ingredients to a glass with ice and stir for 30 seconds. Strain over fresh ice. Garnish with an orange peel.
